Manual Lymph Drainage

How long should my session be?
-
The 45-minute session is perfect for concentrating on one specific area, like the head and neck.
-
The 60-minute session will allow more time for a couple of specific areas.
-
The 90-minute session is helpful for targeting a few areas, and although it takes about 2.5 hours to work on the entire body, a 90-minute session is best for getting more of a full-body approach with this modality.
How can it help?
Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, rhythmic, and non-invasive massage technique that focuses on improving the function of the lymphatic system by moving lymphatic fluid from the body’s tissues into the lymphatic vessels. This lymphatic massage is soothing and calming and can provide pain relief and stress reduction and facilitate detoxification through the body. MLD enhances lymph formation and promotes drainage within the superficial and deep systems of the lymph vascular network.
The technique was developed in the 1930s by Drs. Estrid and Emil Vodder in Europe has since been well-researched to show benefits to healthy individuals and people with specific health challenges. Whether you are healthy and want to support your body or live with a health challenge, MLD is a wonderful modality to work with. The work I do is based on the teaching of the Vodder School.

“During my first lymph drainage massage with Nissa, I felt almost instantly the magic of her touch. As she worked on different areas of my body I fell into this wonderfully peaceful and relaxed state. After my third session, I noticed a real improvement in the swelling in my lower legs, I did not need to wear compression socks as often as before. I look forward with anticipation to my upcoming sessions with Nissa.”

“I had been suffering from constant sinus infections even after sinus surgery. I started seeing Nissa approximately 6 months ago for Manual Lymph Drainage, as I was tired of being on prescription medication that clearly was not working.
“After the first session I could already feel a difference and within 4 sessions I felt like a new person. Nissa truly cares about the health of each client. I am now doing what I refer to as maintenance Manual Lymph Drainage which has allowed me to explore other services from Nissa. Last month I had an amazing Facial combined with my Manual Lymph Drainage and my hope is to add on a Massage by the end of the year.
“As you can tell I can’t say enough about Nissa and her caring manner.”
